Our National Leadership Team

Our BFC National Leadership team is comprised of a staff and Board of Directors who work together

  • Scott Mathis ~ President ~
    Diane Mathis ~ Administrative Assistant & Pastor Wife Care                                    

    Scott & Diane Mathis live in North Platte, NE.  They have served in the Berean Fellowship since 1992. Scott pastored at Mitchell Berean Church in Mitchell, NE for 19 years before he and Di helped plant SONrise Church in Torrington, WY for 5 years.  Scott & Di joined the BFC staff in 2016.  As President, Scott sets the tone and vision for the fellowship by preaching at various Berean churches and shepherding pastors.  In addition, he guides and supports the Regional Fellowship leaders in their mission to plant new churches in each region.  Di serves alongside Scott and oversees the day to day administrative responsibilities of the Berean Fellowship.  She also has a heart to encourage and pray for the Berean pastors' wives as they serve God in their various ministries.  Scott is a cowboy at heart and loves to compete in team roping. Di loves hiking the Colorado Rockies and playing with her grandchildren! They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

  • Tyce Jensen ~ Vice-President ~

    Tyce and Bethany Jensen live in Broken Bow, Nebraska where Tyce is the Lead Pastor at Berean Bible Church.  Tyce and Bethany met at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.  Bethany is from Tyler, Texas, and Tyce is a Broken Bow native.  After serving 4 years as Assistant Pastor in Broken Bow, Tyce attended Dallas Theological Seminary from 2007-2011.  They have served in Broken Bow since 2014.  Tyce and Bethany enjoy reading, good discussions, laughing, and watching British stuff.  Most of their free time is devoted to training up their 5 children in the way they should go, including being Husker fans!  Tyce is passionate about communicating God's truth, training future leaders, and seeing God's people live in Christ-centered community.

  • George Cheek ~ Generosity Coordinator ~

    George & Jan Cheek live in North Platte, NE.  As Generosity Coordinator, George proactively encourages households to live generously as Christ followers and invest wisely in their local church and Berean Fellowship.  It's hard to think of George without thinking of Maranatha Bible Camp, where he has been on staff since 1973, and the Executive Director of the Maranatha Ministries Foundation since 2005.  He and Jan have 2 children and 6 grandchildren.

  • Terry & Bev Jensen live in Broken Bow, NE.  As the Treasurer, Terry leads the Finance Team which builds the annual budget.  He also monitors any major income/expense deviations from the budget, and reports financial results and concerns to the BOD.  Terry is retired from a career in banking and now has a small accounting business called Touchstone Financials.  Terry & Bev serve the Lord at Broken Bow Berean Church and have been associated with the Berean Fellowship since 1967. They have 4 children and 12 grandchildren.  

  • Tom Walker ~ International Church Planting Director ~

    Tom has been a part of the Berean Fellowship since 1959.  He has a BA in Missions and an MA in Theology and served in Manitoba Canada for nine years as a missionary and church planter before pastoring Berean churches in Erickson, Manitoba; Haxtun, CO; Longmont, CO; and North Platte, NE.  He is currently the Interim Lead Pastor at SONrise Church in Torrington, WY.  He and his wife Janet have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

  • Roger Safranek Chairman

    Roger & Sharon Safranek were married in 1971 and have attended Broken Bow Berean in Broken Bow, NE. ever since.  They own a farming operation and have 2 children and 3 grandchildren whom they love spending time with.  They also enjoy late model racing, Husker football and volleyball, and traveling.  

  • Brent Mullock ~ Vice Chairman

    Brent & Bobbi Mullock live in Torrington, WY. He is an elder at SONrise Church and they are both actively in shepherding the SONrise family.  Brent is the Vice-President of Pinnacle Bank.  They have 3 daughters and 4 grandchildren.

  • Mike Wolfe ~ Corporate Secretary

    Mike & Connie Wolfe have been a part of the Berean Fellowship since 1982.  With a core group of people they helped start Plattsmouth Bible Church in 1998, where Mike still pastors.  They have 3 adult children, all three of whom are part of BFC churches.  Connie loves flowers and serving people.  Mike is a music guy and grammar enthusiast.

  • Rick Geiler

    Rick & Kelly live in a rural acreage north of Lincoln. They attended Lincoln Berean Church for several years and also helped with the North Pointe Community Church plant in Lincoln.  Rick owns his own architectural firm.  They have 3 adult daughters. 

  • Benji Hall

    Benji & Chelsea live in Grenada, CA where Benji is the Lead Pastor of Grenada Community Berean Church. They both love ministering to people and teaching God's Word in various settings.  They have 3 children.

  • Jim & Tara Kluth live in Rochester, MN. and are a part of Berean Community Church.   Jim has taught at Schaeffer Academy in Rochester since 1995.  He also owns his own painting and outdoor services business.  They have been a part of the Berean Fellowship since 1995.  He and Tara have 4 children. 

  • Scott Maxon

    Scott & Lyndsey Maxon live in Colorado Springs where Scott is the Lead Pastor of Freedom Church, a new church plant.  Prior to pastoring, Scott spent six years in the United States Air Force as a Space Operations Officer.  They have 1 daughter.

  • Matt & Rachel Maxwell live in Imperial, NE. Matt has pastored Imperial Berean since 2011.  Prior to entering the pastoral ministry, Matt was a teacher and coach for 12 years .  He and Rachel enjoy the close-knit, small town life that Imperial offers.  They have 3 children.
